Dry sweets

MARUBORO

“MARUBORO” has many stories to its root. Some say its name comes from its shape; “maru”, round in Japanese, and “bolo”, which is cake in Portuguese. Others say it derives from Marco Polo, and others say its manufacturing methods originate from Cavaca Fina de Caldas, a traditional sweet from Felgueiras, a town of northern Portugal. Whatever is true, it is sure to have ties with Portugal, and has developed to become one of Saga’s popular sweets. At YAMAZATOYA, we have kept the same manufacturing methods and have been passing down this traditional favorite.
